One of the best spots in the world was going to get demolished and we knew that this occasion gives a big opportunity - a big tribute event to this great place. We knew that many people would want to come say goodbye and that the city would be full of parkour enthusiasts from all around the world. With this in our mind we knew that we want to bring people together to celebrate not only Vltavská but something we care about the most - the parkour culture in general. Inspired by events like Boston’s Join or Die, LA’s Discourse and Prague’s Tupý hrany Freeski Premiere we decided to host an art gallery, live music, parkour raffle, contests and a huge premiere screening where we presented our self-titled film “Avanti Garda” for the first time. The weather was great throughout the whole weekend and it turned out to be one the greatest events in parkour’s history. After such a big success we knew that we wanted to keep doing this with or without Vltavská and that’s when Holding Hands was born. Thank you Vltavská.

Vltavská was one of the best spots in the world, for many of us the spot where we did our first precision, first kong, first jam, first shinner. The central-city location, the grippy walls, the structure, the atmosphere, the smell (ok, maybe not the smell), was what made Vltavská truly a special place. The whole area had to be demolished due to a construction of a new train station and a vast project of building a new Prague’s concert hall. Vltavská was simply unluckily situated and had to go. Luckily the city of Prague is aware of how big of a value Vltavská had for the parkour community and decided to compensate us with trying to come up with a way to keep parkour in the area. That though is still a long process with an unsure ending, all we can say is that we’re working on it!
